Meet KJ the Science Kid

7-year-old Kenneth “KJ” collects Power Rangers, loves cooking at home in his kitchen play set like a chef, and is a great dancer who doesn’t hesitate sharing his moves.

He hopes to be a scientist when he grows up and calls himself “KJ the Science Kid”.

In July of 2020, KJ was diagnosed with brain cancer. Soon after his diagnosis, his mother stopped working in order to care for him during his treatment. Now a one income household, the family has experienced significant financial distress.

With the assistance of the Hands for Holly Memorial Fund, a grant was issued to help assist with their rent while the family focuses on KJ’s care. They also received a Financial Guidebook to offer financial education and budget tools for the road ahead.
