Dear Friends,
It is with mixed emotions that I inform you that Hands for Holly Memorial Fund is closing its doors October 1, 2022. Hands for Holly started with an idea, a hope really; to lift a burden for a family during their most vulnerable time. Holly wanted to help those around her, I wanted to find a single meaning in the disease that would take my daughter’s life and so, Hands for Holly was born.

Holly and I mentioned a goal of $1M. We almost joked, asking one another if we could imagine fundraising that amount of money to help families battling childhood cancer. It was a pipedream really, but we underestimated the generosity of our donors. That dream became a reality over the last six years, raising $1.1M.
Hands for Holly not only surpassed its fundraising goals, but through a partnership with Family Reach and the LiFT Network, we were able to offer a Financial Treatment Program on a national level. I know without question that Holly is proud of this work.
Once we exceeded our target, I began to reflect on the next steps. Should we continue to expand, or was it time to celebrate what was accomplished? I chose the latter. It is time to move on without ever forgetting the beauty that came from this fund and the legacy that it created for Holly.
I am forever grateful to our incredible supporters who have poured their time, talent, and treasure into the fund. For some, they also poured their blood, sweat, and tears into it too;) Hands for Holly far exceeded my expectations. It helped me heal, it gave me purpose, and I know it helped so many in our community and beyond. I am in our supporter’s debt.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart and God bless,
Christine Wade
How can you continue to support the mission? Family Reach is the answer.
As many of you know, Hands for Holly has been a proud member of The LiFT Network since 2019. LiFT is powered by Family Reach, a nonprofit that shares our mission of financially supporting families facing cancer.
Family Reach’s Financial Treatment Program provides free education, financial coaching, resource navigation, and financial assistance for essential costs like housing, food, and transportation. Through our LiFT Network membership, Family Reach has been operating behind the scenes to help us distribute our funding and the rest of the Financial Treatment Program to families in need.
With the news of our closing, we ask that you direct your support to Family Reach. Our mission and Holly’s legacy will live on through their work.
