Meet 3-year-old Kadence

Kadence is a charming 3-year-old girl who was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL) in November 2020.

She lives at home with her loving mother and her two older brothers.

Kadence's mother is the sole provider for their family and must keep working while Kadence undergoes treatment.

Due to her treatment and COVID-19, Kadence couldn’t attend school this past year, which forced her mother to spend close to half of her income on child care.

With the assistance of the Hands for Holly Memorial Fund, a Family Reach LiFT partner, a grant was issued to help assist with their auto loan. An additional Family Reach grant was sent to the family to help with food expenses.

Along with these emergency funds, Kadence’s mother received a Financial Guidebook to provide further financial education and budget tools for the road ahead.
